Blackwood Crossing, a new story driven adventure game from former Black Rock Studio developers, is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2016. You can view the trailer above.
New independent studio PaperSeven is all aboard with a new game that is bringing a coming-of-age story set in a magical train. Blackwood Crossing tells the story of two orphaned children, Scarlett and Finn, as they struggle with drifting apart from another as one of them reaches teenage years. As they take a train ride, a mysterious character appears before them and according to PaperSeven’s press release, “a seemingly ordinary train ride evolves into a magical story of life, love and loss.”
Blackwood Crossing is being developed by former developers from the closed Black Rock Studio, which was known for its work on PURE and Split/Second. The game has been written by Oliver Reid-Smith, who worked on The Room, a mobile title from Fireproof Games.
Alice Guy, the co-founder of PaperSeven, said for the press release, “There’s been some fantastic narrative adventure games coming out in recent times – we’re hoping to take a place at this table whilst offering something different to what’s come before. Blackwood Crossing is evidence of our desire to explore experiences with depth and meaning, and create characters that challenge the often clichéd gaming landscape.”
Blackwood Crossing will be PaperSeven’s first game and will be published by Vision Games Publishing.
