Take-Two Interactive generated $366.4 million in revenue in the quarter ending June 30, up 142% from the same period last year. This resulted in a profit of $11.2 million.
The main drivers of growth were Grand Theft Auto V and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. Sport titles NBA 2K15 and WWE 2K15 also contributed. Take-Two noted that digital content and DLC generated much more revenue this year than last year.
During it’s post-earnings conference call, the company revealed some impressive statistics: Grand Theft Auto V has sold over 54 million copies across PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. The Civilization series also hit a new milestone with 31 million units shipped, helped by last year’s Civilization: Beyond Earth.
Over the next two quarters, Take-Two will release NBA 2K16, WWE 2K16, XCOM 2, and the Beyond Earth expansion Rising Tide.
