A copy of the Tengen Tetris Prototype for the Nintendo Entertainment System (Or “NES” to the cool kids) has appeared online through video game auction website GameGavel. The listing was originally posted last Friday and the bid currently winning the auction values the title at $1,000.00. (Plus postage and packaging of course!)
The listing states that only 100,000 copies of Tengen Tetris were sold during its short time on store shelves which lasted for 4 weeks due to a lawsuit. If that doesn’t make the game rare enough then it is clear to anyone that these pre-lawsuit prototypes must be worth even more.
Wouldn’t it be nice to find one of these hiding somewhere to be found!?
