FUNimation announced yesterday that the Tokyo Ghoul Collector’s Edition has been delayed and will be given a new release date.
FUNimation released the following statement on their website regarding the delay:
“In the process of manufacturing the Season 1 Collector’s Edition, we found some physical defects in the finished product that we just couldn’t accept. This does mean that the Collector’s Edition will be delayed, but these issues will NOT affect the Standard or Limited Edition – those will still be released as planned on September 22nd. We currently don’t have a release date for the corrected Collector’s Edition. As soon as we do, we will communicate it to you.
If you have already pre-ordered a Collector’s Edition, your order is absolutely still valid, and we’ll get this new production run out to you as soon as we can.
Thanks again for all of your patience as we work through this process!”
