A couple of days ago we wrote a story stating that Hideo Kojima was looking for a studio to remake the original Metal Gear Solid with the Fox Engine that’s also powering Metal Gear Solid V. Turns out, that’s not entirely true, as Kojima took to Twitter to clear things up.
“There’s a rumor about remaking MGS1+2, but that’s not true. It has been modified in the thread or something,” he said and offered the possibility that his original statement was translated poorly. With MGSV: The Phantom Pain and other titles to Konami taking priority, it’d be pretty difficult for MGS to be remade.
“I wouldn’t mind if talented creator from outside studio making this happen. That’s what I answered during the itw (interview).”
Additional tweets regarding the matter can be found below:
Regarding the rumor from yesterday, checked the data recording of the actual interview. It was mistranslated from our side.

I answered “You (the journalist) wanted me to do MGS2 on Fox Engine but I cannot do. I wish if only someone could make MGS1 on Fox Engine.”

However, Chris mistranlated as “Personally he would like have MGS1 on Fox Engine, so he try to find someone right now to do that.” NOOOOO!!!
