Despite the massive critical acclaim and positive audience reactions, Guardians of the Galaxy was knocked down from the #1 spot in its second weekend to the return of the Turtles to the big screen. The CGI/live-action hybrid picture Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made $65,000,000 over the weekend placing it #1 at the domestic box-office, despite the negative reviews from critics. Guardians of the Galaxy still managed still managed to bring in a decent amount for its second weekend with $41,531,000, landing it in the #2 slot. With the two hero ensembles fighting for the top slot, it was slim picking for a host of other films. Into the Storm, the new disaster pic, only brought in $18,015,000 making it a big disappointment for the $50 million budget. The Hundred Foot Journey and Step Up All In scrounged up $11,123,000 and $6,575,000 respectively. See the full top 10 below:
