Serkan Hasan, a developer who worked on The Crew, has said he is confident that the open-world racing game will have a smooth and steady launch. Ubisoft’s last major title, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, suffered from major visual bugs and an unsteady framerate when it was released earlier this month. What’s more, the last open-world racing game to be released, Sony’s PS4 exclusive DriveClub, suffered severe server issues which left many players unable to get online. Despite this history, Hasan is certain that his team at Ivory Tower have ensured that The Crew won’t run into similar issues.
Speaking to the Metropolist, Hasan said:
“For The Crew, we’ve reaped the benefits of a long term beta program, designed specifically to push our infrastructure as far as possible in real world situations, with thousands of players from all over the world playing the game at the same time.”
“The launch of any online game these days has potential issues, but I hope that players will be encouraged by our open approach. If you had any doubts that we could pull this off, I hope that the betas proved our credentials and the game’s stability.”
The Crew launches on December 5 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PC
