Usually we are used to newspapers across the world digging into the video game industry. If it isn’t that our little machines cause square eyes it is that they are encouraging violence to bubble up inside of us, if it isn’t encouraging us to jump on turtles and kick their shells it is brain washing us to become addicts to the industry which we love… you get the idea.
So it may surprise you to learn of an article which was recently published in UK newspaper: “The Sun” which went with the headline: “Why Wii’s little brother is best console… EVER” in regards to the Nintendo 3DS.
The article begins with a look back at those special Nintendo moments which we all hold dear (if you are old enough!) such as playing Pokemon, Super Mario Kart and (a little more recent) watching your “Granny” play Wii Sports Bowling before making the point that nobody owns a Wii U. Fair is fair we suppose.
After this however the article concentrates on the Nintendo 3DS, praising its eShop and retail titles such as Fire Emblem, Luigi’s Mansion, VVVVVV and HarmoKnight in doing so. The article concludes with the journalist “Derek Brown” informing the reader of the great titles gracing the 3DS this year (Pokemon X/Y, Legend of Zelda and Mario Golf among others) whilst also giving his “advice” to Nintendo to “wind down the home console stuff”.
Do you agree with Derek Brown? Should Nintendo only focus on its portable console from here on in?
