Ubisoft has jut released a new trailer for their upcoming downloadable title, Valiant Hearts: The Great War. Announced at the Digital Days conference last year, the game will finally be releasing on June 25. Set in the trenches of World War I, Valiant Hearts is a side scrolling puzzle game which tells the story of 5 different characters from 4 different countries. The plot is inspired by real letters from soldiers on the western front, some of which were written by producer Yoan Fanise’s great-grandfather. The developers are hoping that the game can help teach people more about the conflict, which started exactly 100 years ago.
Developed by a team of only ten people at Ubisoft Montpellier, Valiant Hearts has captured a lot of attention for it’s gorgeous visual style. This is largely thanks to the game’s use of UbiArt Framework, an in-house engine that Ubisoft recently used for their last downloadable title, Child of Light. The team at Montpellier will be very familiar with the engine as it is the same one they used to create the excellent Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends titles.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War will be released digitally for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. It will cost $14.99.
