The long awaited arrival of the Pokémon Bank finally came to Europe recently but has yet to hit North America. The app, which will sell for only an annual fee of $4.99 will allow players to import such Pokémon as Victini, Zekrom, Lugia, Mewtwo, and a host of others from Pokémon games of the past such as Pokémon White, Pokémon Black, or Pokémon White or Black 2, into their Pokémon X or Pokémon Y game to fight alongside their currently caught roster.
As a special bonus, those who download the service early will get a special version of Celebi. The app released last month in Asia and came out today in Europe. You will be able to store up to 3,000 Pokémon in one of 100 online boxes. The app was originally slated for a December 27 release but due to eShop outages the release was pushed back.
We will keep you posted on the release date for Pokémon Bank in North America. Until then keep catching ’em all so you can store ’em for even more Pokémon battle excitement in X and Y.
Update: The Pokémon Bank is now available in the North America eShop and has a 30-day free trial period which is redeemable until March 14th, 2014 and you can receive the free Celebi until September 30th, 2014.
