With all the crazy speculation that next-generation consoles will require you to permanently hook your new console up to your Internet connection forcing you to consider if it would be wise to pitch a tent outside your Internet Service Providers HQ, it’s nice to hear from companies who couldn’t care less if you have an internet connection or not and are developing their games around that idea.
Although Ubisoft’s next title, “Watch Dogs” does feature online capabilities which allows others to jump into your game to manipulate your surroundings you do not have to have an internet connection to enjoy the game as the single player campaign can be played offline if you so desire.
This emerged after the senior producer at Ubisoft Montreal, Dominic Guay, spoke to Joystiq about Watch Dogs and simply stated that the game can be played “completely offline if you want”.
