So WiiU is not far from it’s release which is meant to be around this years holiday season. Nintendo still has more details to unveil about their system in the next coming weeks, but its also good to hear what the competitors in the the console race are thinking.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss Jim Ryan had this comment.
“It’s obviously a potential risk but we feel really good about our content,”
“We feel good about our line-up that we showed at E3. We’re very excited about publishing it. We’ve got 30 million (hardware sales target) for this year, it’s a big number but we’ve got the tools to go out and deliver that.”
Ryan went on to mention about how Sony is still focused on producing new IP first party titles. These have had a great impact on Sony’s sales over the past few years and one of the reasons why PlayStation has been one of there most profitable franchises.
Sony has a long road ahead of it’s self before it can be financially stable but they have great fate in their PlayStation hardware to see that happen. With up coming games like Beyond: Two Souls and The Last Of Us it certainly looks like they are ready for a come back. Check out the upcoming game The Last Of Us below.“It becomes economically easier if you’ve got an installed base of 64 million,” he said. “Making that financial commitment to this sort of thing is a lot easier than if you’ve got 6 million.”
