It was announced earlier today that publishers ‘XSEED JKS Inc.’ have acquired ‘ATLUS Online’ to form a U.S publishing division of the Japanese publisher ‘MarvelousAQL Inc.‘ This acquisition has led the two companies to unify under the name of ‘Marvelous USA, Inc.’ with immediate effect. Due to the sudden expansion of the business new offices will be opened to focus on mobile and online social games. As it stands, their console and handheld video games will still carry the “XSEED” brand name.
If you’re currently an ATLUS Online user then you need not worry about these changes as your old ATLUS ID (and your associated in-game characters) will be automatically transferred into a matching Marvelous ID. All you need to do is log in and play as normal.
President and CEO of Marvelous, Shinichi Suzuki has stated that this rebranding is an opportunity to “explore new possibilities through diligence and open communication” and that the merging “unifies our US operations under the global Marvelous brand while giving our customers topnotch products and support for both traditional and online social and mobile games,”.
