During their Digital Event stream Nintendo showed off many trailers, the most heart-meltingly adorable being the trailer for Yoshi’s Woolly World, the new Yoshi adventure for Wii U.
Known to most of us as “Yoshi’s Epic Yarn” or “Yarn Yoshi” up until now, Woolly World is what happens when Yoshi’s Island meets Kirby’s Epic Yarn, the 2010 Wii game that showed us all we could feel things again and made grown men squeal and giggle like tickled babies. Unlike Epic Yarn, set in a 2D world where everything is made of individual threads of yarn, Woolly World (while still a 2D platformer) has a more filled out look, where creatures and landscapes are made of balls of yarn or wool like little home-made plushies. Even the enemy bosses are adorable.
As shown in the trailer, the game features a two-player co-operative mode and is set for release in the first half of 2015.
