The Bureau: XCOM Declassified has a new trailer that puts all of its effort into reminding us that we (and Agent William Carter) are the last line of defense against the world’s new, alien foe. Carter was chosen to be the leader of his squad because he was special, and better, than everyone else. As the one man out in the field that can issue orders, he holds the lives of not just his men, but the whole of humanity, in his hands (or would it be his voice?)
Judging by the gameplay we’ve seen for the game so far and how fast you can issue commands (while still controlling your own character), it seems as though it’d be fairly easy to make a mistake when telling the people in your squad what to do. Unlike XCOM: Enemy Unknown, where the combat is turned-based and you have time to think, XCOM Declassified is all in real-time, with the only slowdown coming when you bring up your power wheel to issue commands. You have no time to wonder how enemies will react and plan ahead, you just have to keep moving and adjust accordingly.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified has a release date of August 23rd.
