FUNimation announced this week that the anime film, Your Name, will arrive at American theaters in 2017.
Two high school students, Mitsuha and Taki, are strangers to each other. But one night stars fell from the sky and the two teenagers swapped places and their bodies. This event happens at random and eventually both Taki and Mitsuha become adjusted to their new lives. They create a connection to each other and communicate by leaving each other messages.
This method of messaging is not enough for these two. They want to see each other face-to-face as themselves. As much as they try some force keeps preventing it. The question that remains is will Taki and Mitsuha be doomed to forever swap places and never meet each other? Looking at the animation alone, the detailed and more realistic animated scenery is enough to prompt anime fans to place it on their 2017 movie list. Excellence can be expected since Your Name is directed by Makoto Shinkai who also worked on Voices of a Distant Star and 5 Centimeters Per Second. Your Name will be available in both English dub and sub at select theaters. For available versions you will need to check with your local theater.
