Yesterday, Popcap and EA released the next free expansion pack for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare entitled Zomboss Down. Along with the new free DLC, they also released a rather large update for the game.
Let’s start with the free western-themed DLC features. It will include a new map for Gardens & Graveyards called Cactus Canyon. This map features a Golf Bomb minigame at the end. There has also been a new card pack added to the sticker shop called “Zomboss Down”. This will be where you collect the new characters and customizations. Included in these sticker packs are 8 new playable characters with some 200+ new items to customize your characters.
For those who like Garden Ops, there are three new consumable plants to try out. They are the Bamboo Shoot, Fire Peashooter, and the Ice Peashooter. Along with 10 new achievments, EA has also added the ability to see party member locations during gameplay by giving your friends a different colored Gamertag. For those who have already maxed out their characters, the level cap has been increased to 30, along with new star challenges to complete. Like to talk smack at the end of the match? You can now communicate with all other players at the End of Round screens. Don’t like to hear the smack talk? You can now mute all by using the corresponding mute button on the leaderboard screen on Xbox One.
When I took the update last night, it weighed in at just under 3GBs. Included in the update are several fixes/improvements, tuning/balance changes, map changes, and lastly scoring/coin changes. The details of all these changes is rather lengthy but can be read on the Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare Facebook page.
Zomboss Down is a free DLC expansion pack and it is currently available on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
