Nintendo has confirmed that Yo-Kai Watch 2 for the 3DS and developed by LEVEL-5 will be released in the United States Fall 2016 along with some surprises for the series’ fans.
The game is based on the Japanese folklore of invisible and troublesome beings called Yo-kai. Everyday people are having various troubles not caused by their own doing. Whether it involves homework suddenly disappearing or a pot with soup cooking falls over without anyone near is all the work of the mischievous Yo-kai. Play as Nate, a human boy with a special watch that gives him the power to see and summon Yo-kai. Nate uses this new talent to help people with their everyday problems, such as finding that missing homework, that are probably caused by Yo-kai.
New areas outside of the previous game’s Springdale will be available to explore and there will be plenty of new discoveries to be made. Two versions of the game will be available much like the Pokemon games. Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls will each have exclusive original Yo-kai that will only appear in their game. If you want to encounter all the Yo-kai for this game you’ll need to purchase both versions.
Hasbro will be releasing new Yo-Kai Watch toys this Fall and the second season of the TV animation will begin airing on Disney XD this summer. Yo-kai Watch 2 will be released in the US on September 30th for the Nintendo 3DS. You can explore the world of the Yo-Kai Watch series by visiting the official website.
