Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is coming on April 7 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. It is being remastered by People Can Fly and published by Gearbox Publishing. The game was announced by Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford at the 2016 Game Awards, and it is the first game that will be published by Gearbox Publishing. The game is a remaster of the 2011 over-the-top shooter from People Can Fly and Epic, which was put out by EA. While it was reviewed favorably, it was considered a flop for EA.
Bulletstorm is a shooter that focuses on creative kills by rewarding the players for coming up with unique kills, and ways to combo them to get the highest score possible. The game did not have any competitive modes to it when it was first released, instead focusing on leaderboards and trying to one-up other players with high scores. The game was very extreme in its gore and violence as well as crude humour, but is certain to have fans that will look forward to replaying the game.
For players that preorder the game, there comes a fairly impressive preorder bonus, brought to the game thanks to the involvement of Gearbox. With the preorder of Bulletstorm comes the ability to play as Duke Nukem in a new version of the campaign. The add-on is titled Duke Nukem’s Tour of Bulletstorm, and it includes an entirely new audio track by original Duke Nukem voice actor Jon St. John.
Easily one of the bigger surprises of the night at The Game Awards, a remaster of Bulletstorm has been a rumour for a while but it was shocking to see it on the show. The game is an enjoyable take on the shooter genre especially if it plays as well as the original, and the inclusion of Duke Nukem should bring a number of new fans to the game.
