Divinity: Original Sin 2 is being reworked for its console versions, according to a Bandai Namco preview event. According to sources, the entire third act will be almost completely changed from PC versions. At the event, Bandai Namco revealed a list of adjustments that have been made to the RPG.
New NPCs
However, that doesn’t mean the third act will be completely unrecognizable for existing players. The changes will give the game a better flow, and improve its structure. Because of that, Act 3 will feature new dialogue, NPCs, and quests. Aside from these changes, it is unclear what other changes will be made.
Larian, the developer behind the game, introduced these changes over the past few months. However, it’s unclear when or why they decided to introduce the changes. To ease new players into the game, Larian is introducing an optional tutorial level in the console version of Original Sin 2. There’s also a new, more welcoming difficulty setting called Story mode.
Story Mode
Divinity: Original Sin 2‘s Story mode lets players flee from battle. It also lets players revive their party members whenever they want to. Reviving party members also won’t have a cap. This will make things easier for newcomers to the franchise.
Aside from this, Larian has also improved the games UI; mainly, the Journal interface and inventory screens have been updated. This should clear things up for many players and reduce clutter. Journal entries have also been rewritten to be clearer for readers. It’s also been broken up further; quests, lore, and origin quests make up the main components of the Journal. New and improved map markers have also been introduced so players can keep better track of quests.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 is going to be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this coming August.
