Well, this’ll go down well(!) More single-player DLC is inbound for Mass Effect 3 (that much was obvious) but some information on it may have been found on the game disc itself. Said information is merely a possible plot summary but don’t let that stop you so-called Mass Effect fans from raging away in the comments! Go nuts(!) The rest of us will read the rest of the article, first.
ME fan site Hold The Line were the ones responsible for the data-mining and discovered a number of seemingly cut audio files for Aria T’Loak and they’re all about her plan to take Omega back from Cerberus after they ousted her. Expanded Universe fans will know that Cerberus forcibly took the station from her back in the comic series Mass Effect: Invasion. It seems that this DLC will let you fight alongside Aria at long, long last.
More worryingly, however, is that also within those files is the reveal that you’ll encounter Zaeed Massani (not the worrying part) who, according to the files, has signed up with Cerberus. Now, if you managed to keep the man alive during ME2, you’ll bump into him in ME3 where he reveals that he and Cerberus don’t get along so well after negotiations between them went sour. He’s even a war asset! If this is true (again, all of these are unconfirmed), then some major retconning is going to be required.
There’s been no actual announcement regarding the next single player Mass Effect 3 DLC, yet, but it’s almost certainly coming. Whether it’ll turn out like anything here is also a mystery that only time will solve. But, if we are going back to Omega, please tell me that this awesome music from Upper Afterlife will return too? Please?
