It has recently been announced by Microsoft, Epic and GameStop that those who pre-order Gears of War: Judgment from the retailer, and are also PowerUp Rewards members, will get exclusive early access to Judgment’s OverRun multiplayer mode. The early access starts on March 15th and runs until the 18th, while all Xbox Live Gold members will be able to play the demo on March 19th; the game’s launch date. XP earned in the mode will be carried over to the full game, should those that participate in the demo pick up (and play) the game within the first week of launch.
Additionally, for anyone who pre-orders the game from GameStop, a Young Marcus skin, as well as a Lambert Weapon skin will be offered, but if pre-ordered from another outlet, the Classic Hammerburst will be received.
I’ve never really seen the point of holding off demos for games until the game is actually out, because some people like to make decisions ahead of time, but only giving early access to PowerUp Rewards members just seems to be adding more steps to the process than necessary. Before, all you had to do was pre-order from GameStop; now you have to sign up for their rewards program too? God forbid if you just want to play the game and nothing more.
