Advance War was a series of RTS titles developed for Nintendo’s handhelds (the GBA and later the Nintendo DS) which involved you taking control of a small fleet with the aim of destroying your opponent. Whilst that sounds like the simplest of titles it was by far one of the better and more addictive gems in Nintendo’s library when it was being developed and clutched to the inside of GBA handhelds across the world, refusing to be removed.
That was five years ago in the UK after the release of the series sequel on the Nintendo DS, but in an interview with the official Fire Emblem website, Intelligent Systems have revealed that they would like to make another entry into the Advance Wars series as we draw closer and closer to the release of Fire Emblem in the UK, the company’s latest masterpiece.
The man releasing these nuggets of excitement was Masahiro Higuchi, currently project manager of Fire Emblem: Awakening. This is what he said regarding another Advance Wars title:
“Well, whether it’s Fire Emblem or the Advance Wars, we never want to put an end to any series we’re involved with. We always want to make games that provide a lot of fun to gamers, so if we have the chance, we’d certainly like to make another [Advance Wars] title.
Would you like to see another entry into the Advance Wars series? Or would you like to see Intelligent Systems create a new IP for the Wii U/3DS? As always, let us know in the comments below or through our Facebook page!
