The latest European sales figures from Chart Track reveal that, unsurprisingly, Destiny has sold more copies in its launch week than any other new IP. It also had the biggest launch of 2014 so far. Prior to the release of Destiny, both of these records were held by Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs. The platform breakdown was 46% PS4, 36% Xbox One, 14% Xbox 360 and 3% PS3. This means that Microsoft and Sony got half of Destiny’s sales each. Altogether, Destiny generated $500 million in it’s first week.
In other sales news, The Sims 4 was knocked down into second place by the launch of Destiny which meant that Watch Dogs was pushed down to third, despite a 29% increase in sales. The Last of Us: Remastered fell to fifth place behind Call of Duty Ghosts. You can see the entire UK all-format top 10 below.
