Capcom has revealed it is working on a HD remake of Resident Evil Zero. The announcement was made in Japanese gaming magazine Dengeki Online.
This prequel to Resident Evil was released as a Gamecube exclusive in 2002. It was later ported to the Wii in 2008. Resident Evil Zero‘s protagonist is Rebecca Chambers, a field medic who was a supporting character in the original game. The male lead is Billy Coen, an escaped convict.
Earlier this month, Capcom announced it would create several HD remasters over the next few years. The company launched Resident Evil HD Remaster in January 2015. It surpassed Capcom’s expectations and sold over 1 million units.
Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster will be released in early 2016 in Japan for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. A worldwide release has not yet been announced.
