Sony Announces PlayStation VR’s Pricing and Release Date
It didn’t go completely smoothly afterwards, but the initial reveal of Sony’s PlayStation VR pricing had many excited to pick up a new headset. Releasing in October 2016, the headset is going to be priced at $399 USD. For those who already have a PlayStation Camera and Move controllers, this is a steal. For those who don’t, they will also have to spend money on those peripherals in order to get the full VR experience.
Online Only Games Received Some Honest Criticism
This generation of consoles has brought some amazing features, but one of the major complaints a lot of people have begun having is with games that require an online connection. Jerry Dobracki took a detailed look at what makes online only games unappealing. From bad servers to the often short-lived hype behind them, there are many reasons online only games simply have not taken off in the way that a lot of developers have hoped. On top of what’s wrong with online only games, Patrick Kennedy also examined whether we even care about Resident Evil games anymore or if its just Capcom that no longer cares.
Commence the Kingdom Hearts 3 Excitement as E3 Approaches
Last week, Angelo de Bellis took a look at Paper Mario Color Splash and began looking forward to E3 2016 to find out more about the game. Now Kingdom Hearts 3 is the focus, as Chris Penwell adds it to the E3 hype train. What do we know so far? What can we expect? Chris takes a look at those questions and more, while also juggling the knowledge that Final Fantasy XV is still on Square Enix’s mind. But with multiple voice actors rumored, as well as the inclusion of Big Hero 6 in the Kingdom Hearts universe, it doesn’t seem like Square Enix can hold off on presenting more information about the popular franchise.
Hitman Returns in Elegant, Yet Brutal Fashion
Logan Schultz took a look at the return of Agent 47 in Square Enix’s reboot of the Hitman franchise. Taking on an episodic format (which Logan wound up having reservations about), the series has not looked this good in a while. This is a game made specifically for those who want to kill people in as many ways as possible, with unique approaches available to every situation. Sure, you can just sneak around and kill someone with a silenced pistol, but why not have some fun with it? Poison them first, then shoot them in the head. The first episode offers plenty of reasons to hire 47 as your next assassin.
We’re That Much Closer to Seeing a Young Han Solo
There is going to be a Han Solo origin movie, in case you haven’t heard. We don’t have a title or plot for the movie yet, but there has been a pair of directors attached to it for a long time: Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21/22 Jump Street, The LEGO Movie). Written by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, the film still needs someone to fill the shoes of a young Han Solo. Dylan Schwan wrote the story about Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!), and Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction) all being in the running for the role and it likely being between those three. We’ll see what happens in the coming months and how it all turns out when the film is released on May 25th, 2018.
