Sucker Punch productions recently announced a new co-op mode arriving for their recent hit game Ghost of Tsushima, titled Legends which is coming free to owners of the game later this year. The mode introduces four legendary warriors of Tsushima with locations and enemies inspired by Japanese mythology.
Additional Information
The strictly co-op mode allows players of 2-4 to choose among four distinct classes, namely the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin class, all of which have their own unique abilities. Sucker punch also mentions that players can take on story missions with a team of two or survival missions with a full group of four. A harder four-player raid mode is also reportedly coming after launch.
A statement from Sucker Punch regarding the new multiplayer mode can be seen below:
“We designed Legends to be an exclusively cooperative gameplay experience. Players will be able to use matchmaking or play with friends in groups of up to four. In a full squad, players can try wave-based survival missions. The mode includes four character classes, with more details on their abilities to come. “With two players in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, you’ll be able to play a series of co-op Story missions that escalate in difficulty, building on the foundation of combat from the single-player campaign but with new magical twists that often require careful synchronization with your partner.”
The announcement was quite a surprise to many, and while we currently do not have a release date, hopefully, it plays as well as it looks.
