Metal Max Xeno is an open-world JRPG set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Humanity has been almost entirely wiped out by the machines, only resisted by a small group of survivors. With humanity on the brink of extinction, the stakes are high as you fight for survival in an endless wasteland.
A war against the mother computer NOA has brought the city of TOKIO, Asia to rubble. A desolate wasteland awaits you to explore, as you battle your way through onslaughts of enemies. Salvage tanks and weaponry to strike back, with your faithful battle dog Pochi by your side. It’s up to you to reclaim the future in the name of humanity.
An Endless Wasteland
Metal Max Xeno is set in the devastated world of Dystokio. In addition to the exploration, there’s real-time battle and vehicle combat elements. Taking the role as Talis, you need to find other survivors who are willing to join the fight. There are even no limits on where you can go, no matter how far you progress.
As you unite new fighters, you can add them to your party and add their unique skills to the team. You can bring up to 3 team mates with you, as well as your beloved battle dog Pochi.
Like your other team mates, Pochi can level up, learn new skills and join the fray as your fourth party member. You help Pochi earn skill points by feeding him at the base, and yes, you may also pet him.
Coming To The West 2022
During the game, you upgrade your skill trees and develop abilities of your choice. You have five different categories to choose from; Drive, Repair, Medical, Militia, and Survive. You can also target your enemies using your tanks and weapons, which you have to do in order to unleash your powers on them and inflict massive damage. With a full party, you need to balance your strengths and weaknesses in order to get the upper hand on the enemy.
You can scavenge tanks and parts from across the wasteland, and customize them with a fresh coat of paint. With the vehicle customization system you can even add powerful weapons to your tanks. There are endless combinations you can do with these customizations, so make sure to experiment.
PQube has announced Metal Max Xeno: Reborn is coming to the west on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Switch next year. The remake was launched in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Switch in September 2020.
