Nintendo announced a number of things at their most recent Nintendo Direct that occurred earlier today, but one of the big things discussed was how much attention Luigi will be getting this time around; he’s even getting his own DLC!
- New Super Luigi U – Luigi gets his own DLC for New Super Mario Bros. U that see players navigating their way through 80 alternate versions of the original game’s levels. The DLC is a single download and you’ll be able to easily change between the Luigi themed DLC and the original content.
- Mario & Luigi: Dream Team – This new 3DS entry into the Mario & Luigi RPG series takes place inside Luigi’s own mind (Inception!) where Luigi dreams of himself as a powerful, brave hero.
- Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon – This is the title that Nintendo claims will kick off the Year of Luigi when it releases on March 24th. New multiplayer modes aside from the previously revealed Hunter Mode were detailed as well. Like the Rush Mode or the Polterpup Mode; in which players search for hidden ghost pups. It should be noted that four copies of the game may be needed.
- Finally, we have the announcement of a new Mario Golf title for the 3DS, Mario Golf: World Tour, where Luigi and Co. compete in typical Mushroom Kingdom fashion. It’s set to release this Summer.
Now all Luigi needs is his own Nintendo 3DS model and he’ll be good to go. Admit it, how many of you would buy that?
