If the Achtung! Cthulhu tabletop game isn’t enough for you, you can now take your Eldritch horrors to the realm of PC.
The makers behind the tabletop game, Modiphius, have teamed up with publisher Ripstone and developer Auroch Digital to bring Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics: The Forest of Fear, to your PC later this year.
Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics: The Forest of Fear is a WW2-themed strategic role-playing game where the Nazis have turned to beings from other worlds to turn the tides of the war. In this universe, the Nazi’s well-known obsession with the occult has brought them face to face with the creatures of Eldritch and the Cthulhu Mythos. This marks the start of what Auroch Digital calls “The Secret War,” where the allies fight desperate battles against an unholy alliance of Nazi science and Eldritch horror. As a member of the allies, you’ll be controlling a wide range of soldiers and using weapons from this world and the worlds of others in this narrative-driven, turn-based strategy game.
Five years ago, Achtung! Cthulhu debuted as a Kickstarter project and shortly after, reached its funding goal, far exceeding it in no time. Today, the series calls multiple mediums home–you can explore this world via tabletop products, skirmish miniature games, novels, audio dramas and through its many crossovers with other licenses.
Chief Commander of Auroch Digital, Tomas Rawlings, is honored to work with Modiphius and Ripstone on bringing Achtung! Cthulhu to PC.
“It’s a real honor to work alongside Modiphius and Ripstone on what will be a premium Cthulhu-mashup,” Rawlings said. “Having worked with the Ripstone team before back in the PlayStation 3 days, together we made amazing strategy games and I’m confident history will repeat itself.”
While Ripstone has enough money to fully fund the core game, Achtung! Cthulhu has made a return to Kickstarter–which has raised $11,551 of its $13, 878 goal at the time of this writing–to give fans the chance to help fund additional content for the game.
No release date has been set but according to the Kickstarter page, Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics: The Forest of Fear is expected to launch in Q4 of this year.
