Video game legends Lori and Corey Cole launched a crowdfunding campaign on the 1st of October. The Cole-duo are the game designers behind Quest for Glory, and this time around they are bringing gamers the latest installment of Hero-U entitled Summer Daze at Hero-U.
The Kickstarter campaign is meant to raise funds for the latest installment, which is the follow up to the 2018 ambitious, innovative point-and-click game, Hero-U Rogue to Redemption. The funding goal for the campaign is $99,999. Although the goal appears high, crowdfunding has shown that no goal is too high to meet. Though one should note that Corey pointed out that they would “hate to come up $1 short.”
Either Wizard or Rogue
Hero-U is a magical school. No, it is not Harry Potter‘s Hogwarts rather it is an entirely different school filled with bards, rogues, paladins, and wizards. Players have the choice to play as either a male or a female character. The former is Ifeyo Kinah a studious and introspective wizard with a meerbat familiar named Jafafa. The latter is Tilly Appleberry; a mischievous, humorous rogue whose wits are her greatest weapon.
“After getting in trouble with the hated Headmaster Trek, Tilly or Ifeyo has to make the upcoming Fall Harvest Festival a success…or else! This simple task kicks off an adventure game that only he Coles can create, full of memorable characters and scenes that will leave you smiling!”
Player Prioritization
Summer Daze is a game for almost everyone. This is done through its diverse cast and narrative gameplay only driven further by the need of those who enjoy interactive storytelling coupled with humor. Those familiar with Hero-U Rogue to Redemption will most likely find themselves enjoying the prequel to said game’s story. In addition, players unfamiliar with the Hero-U games will find themselves immersed in the rich fantasy environment created by Lori and Corey Cole.
“Summer Daze at Hero-U is new direction for us. We’ve crystallized the story and characters into a fast-paced illustrated adventure that can be played anywhere.” – Corey Cole
