THQ Nordic has announced that The Legend of Kay: Anniversary is coming to the Nintendo Switch, fur real. Sorry, couldn’t resist. The remaster originally came out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, PS4, and Wii U, but it will now be released on Nintendo’s high selling console.
Originally released in 2005, the game is a 3D platformer with action elements. You play as Kay, who is an apprentice of martial arts. However, in this anthropomorphic world, gorillas and rats from foreign lands are taking over his region. Gorillas and rats now control his village. His goal is to push the gorillas and rats out of his land and bring back The Way, a period, in which, cats, rabbits, frogs, and pandas were living together in peace and harmony.
The game comes with 25 different levels, 3 different primary weapons (including a sword, hammer, and the coolest weapon, the claws), online rankings, and mini-games that have Kay riding wild boars, dragons, and wolves.
When I originally reviewed the remaster for BagoGames, I thought “it has terrible voice acting, badly written dialogue, and a clunky camera.” However, I was happy with the platforming and combat, which, in a platform-action game, that’s pretty important.
The Legend of Kay: Anniversary will come out sometime this year for Nintendo Switch. If you’re prowling to play this game, the other versions are available now.
