Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-Up, the weekly (and ever evolving) time when we look at the top five news stories of the week. And what a week we here at BagoGames had, luckily no server issues though. If you are like many PlayStation Vita owners, you may be lamenting the lack of games that are available for the system. We have heard rumor that Assassin’s Creed III and Ghost Recon: Final Mission are coming to the powerful hand-held. It looks like the Assassin’s Creed III rumor has some merit to it after a leaked page scan from next month’s Game Informer magazine hit the web. We have not heard any more on the possibility of Ghost Recon: Final Mission, but I bet that will change Monday.

THQ, the struggling publisher, has named Jason Rubin, co-founder of Naughty Dog, as the new president of the company. Rubin will be responsible for the worldwide product development, marketing and publishing operations and will be reporting to THQ CEO Brian Farrell. Rubin left Naughty Dog in 2004; three years after Sony Computer Entertainment bought the studio.

Shin Megami Tensei IV is currently being developed for the Nintendo 3DS, Atlus confirmed earlier. Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu was expected to be the first to reveal information about the game, but printed a two-page teaser stating that the title was headed to the 3DS. Atlus has plans to launch a website for the game which is available through here. I’m sure this title will showcase all the strengths Nintendo’s newest handheld unit has.

The legal drama between Activision and former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella has come to an end and a settlement has been reached. While specifics of the settlement have not been released, Activision has released the following statement: “The company does not believe that the incremental one-time charges related to the settlement will result in a material impact on its GAAP or non-GAAP earnings per share outlook for the current quarter or the calendar year, due to stronger-than-expected operating performance in the current quarter.”

After rumors of the games existence, Warner Brothers and Traveller’s Tales have officially announced Lego Lord of the Rings. The game will be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo 3DS. Unlike Lego games of the past, this game will feature full voice acting from the movies and will not be quit as linear as past games and will be more of a grand adventure instead of a series of short stories.

This week had a lot of big news as we prepare for E3 in Los Angeles next week and the news staff and I found it hard to narrow it down to the usual five stories. With that in mind, here are some honorable mentions: Sony’s Music Unlimited service is now available for your iOS devices, Kurt Schilling, the former baseball all-star, may lose $50 million of his personal fortune over the financial woes of 38 Studios, a rumor floating around the internet was that Sony is looking to acquire an online streaming company, Game Informer has teased the next Gears of War game titled Gears of War: Judgment, the PlayStation Vita will be getting its very own YouTube app, Rising Star Games, alongside Natsume and TOYBOX are working on a new title tentatively named Project Happiness. and Lucus Arts has announced a new internal Star Wars game simply knowns as Star Wars 1313.
