Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-Up, the weekly (and ever evolving) time when we look at the top five news stories (in no particular order) of the week. Coming off E3 last week you would think the news would be starting to die down. Well my friends, you would be wrong to assume this. We have 5 big news topics this week and also two quick mentions of our newest podcast series The Interview with Q and the Bagocast: Episode 8 – The Death of the CD and Motorola’s War on Fun. Have fun!

Starting off with Nintendo. According to a recent interview, Shigeru Miyamoto has said that Nintendo has already started pitching around ideas for future generations of handhelds. A lot of people are holding off on buying a 3DS due to the fact that they know Nintendo will release a new model. So a lot of people have shown their support for Microsoft since Motorola requested a ban on their consoles in America due to an infringement patent used on Xbox controllers. The big M is set to reveal a tablet at a secret event in LA and after their unveiling of smart glass at E3 last week we are very interested in knowing what else they have in store for us.

Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two has received a release date. Expect to buy it this fall for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii on November 18th. The first Epic Mickey was a Wii exclusive and did very well. The main complaint of the game was how the camera was controlled but this new game will support a better camera angle system.

Microsoft announced that it will not be attending TGS. Microsoft said that they are not abandoning Japan and has planned promotions for the end of the year. Microsoft has always struggled in the Japanese market so they may have finally decided to pull back a bit and not continue making a big push in that country.

Things keep getting worse for Curt Shilling with the banks now looking for $2.4 Million in loan debts. The lawsuit was filed the same day the company announced bankruptcy. This is the official statement: “Schilling has failed and refused, and continues to fail and refuse, to satisfy the outstanding indebtedness”. Things don’t look very good for the former Boston Red Sox pitcher.
