I’ve only played a handful of hours with WWE Immortals, but is a gleefully ridiculous title that is not afraid to have a lot of fun with a roster of WWE superstars. For their one-year anniversary, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and WWE have announced that Bret “The Hitman” Hart will be added to the game’s already impressive roster. The mobile free-to-play game will also update with new versions of Roman Reigns and Sheamus, as well as some new content updates too.
Based on the trailer above, NetherRealm Studios is having a lot of fun with the WWE roster by giving Bret Hart laser eyes akin to Cyclops of X-Men fame. Oh, and those lasers leave behind a trailer of hearts. WWE Immortals players will also receive a Universal Support Card that allows for a free upgrade for every character they own. On top of this, they will also get 35,000 Immortal Credits to spend in the game’s shop.
As well as new characters and free credits, the title will also add a challenge mode that gives players the chance to earn some of the most rare and powerful characters in WWE Immortals. New booster packs will be available as well that will help players upgrade their roster of divas and superstars. To tie into the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view event, the game is also going to add a new tournament for multiplayer.
NetherRealm Studios has been extremely busy lately with two fighting games. WWE Immortals has had its roster double since it launched in January 2016, and knowing the power of the WWE brand, it doesn’t seem like that will slow down anytime soon. They also recently announced the Mortal Kombat XL edition, which will feature all of the DLC that has been released for Mortal Kombat X since its launch early last year. Mortal Kombat X will also be making an appearance at EVO 2016.
WWE Immortals is available to play now on Android and iOS devices.
