Today, Microsoft revealed their Xbox Games With Gold April 2020 selection. To those who don’t know, Xbox Live Gold players get free games monthly, known as Games With Gold. The schedule operates as follows with every month’s four games:
- one Xbox One title is available for free for the entire month (April 1st to 30th in this case)
- one Xbox One title is available from the middle of the month to the middle of next month (April 16th to May 15th here)
- Xbox adds two Xbox 360 titles to its Backwards Compatibility lineup every month. The first title is available for free for the first half of the month (April 1st to the 15th).
- The second Xbox 360 title is available for free for the second half of the month (April 16th to the 30th).
About This Month’s Games
The first Xbox One title available in Games with Gold this month is PROJECT CARS 2. The game is a racing simulator, similar to the Forza Motorsport series of games. One of the game’s unique draws and mechanics is known as LiveTrack 3.0. This mechanic changes driving conditions dynamically (such as sudden rain or temperature drops).
On April 16th, players get access to the Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle. The game bundles the two successful mobile titles Knights of Pen and Paper, released in 2012, and its 2015 sequel. The series has you take control of a tabletop RPG session, with every decision reflecting on you. From battles to towns you visit, all actions of the party are of your judgment.
Over on the Xbox 360 side of things, players get access to Fable Anniversary on April 1st. Fable Anniversary’s key drawing point is that it’s a remaster of Fable: The Lost Chapters. With overhauled graphics, audio and a new save system, fans of the original release can replay it looking better than before.
The last title of the month comes in the form of Codemasters’ Toybox Turbos. Codemasters is known for delivering fun racing game experiences, and Toybox Turbos does not disappoint. Choose from a selection of toy racecars, and use the game’s powerups to disrupt your competition.
As always, players can download the games by opening the Xbox Guide and scrolling all the way to the bottom. Upon selecting the Ultimate & Game Pass menu, players can view the information and download the titles they choose. This also applies to Game Pass Ultimate holders, as they have Gold through Game Pass Ultimate itself.
