Best Multiplayer: Camilla Ludington, the voice of Lara Croft from Rise of the Tomb Raider, presented the award for Best Multiplayer. The award went to Nintendo’s Splatoon.
Best Mobile Handheld Game: Following the announcement of Best Multiplayer, it was announced that Lara Croft Go won Best Mobile Handheld Game.
Best E-Sports Team: Following Shaq’s announcement of a Shaq Fu sequel and the E-League national television event, Shaq announced the E-Sports Team of the Year: Optic Gaming. This award was voted on by fans.
Best Narrative: Video game voice actor Troy Baker announced the award for Best Narrative in a Video Game. The award went to Her Story.
Favorite Trending Gamer: The award for Favorite Trending Gamer has gone to Greg Miller of IGN and KindaFunny.com. This award was voted on by fans.
Best Indie Game: Churches, after performing a song live on The Game Awards, came out to present the award for Best Indie Game. The award went to Rocket League.
Best Sports/Racing Game: Along with winning the award for Best Indie Game, Rocket League took home the award for Best Sports/Racing Game.
Games for Impact: Games for Impact is an award that goes to games with a mission and that strive to see the world in a different way. The award went to Life is Strange.
Best Fan Game: This award goes to games developed and produced completely by fans. The award went to Portal Stories:Mel by Prism Studios.
Best Developer: Conan O’Brien presented the nominees for Best Developer in a pre-recorded segment based on the Clueless Gamer shorts from his television show. The award went to CD Projekt Red, developers of The Witcher 3.
Best Art Direction: Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, presented the award for Best Art Direction to Moon Studios for their game Ori and the Blind Forest.
Industry Icon Award: Kiefer Sutherland, voice actor in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, presented the Industry Icon Award to Westwood Industries, creators of Dune 2 and Command and Conquer. Louis Castle and Brett Sperry accepted the award.
Best Action/Adventure Game: Mark Hamill, who plays Luke in the Star Wars movies and who voices Joker in the Batman: Arkham games, and Chris Roberts presented the award for Best Action/Adventure Game to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The Award was accepted by Kiefer Sutherland, voice of Snake. This award was accepted by Sutherland on behalf of Hideo Kojima, who could not be present for the show.
Best Soundtrack: Following a performance of Quiet Steam from the Metal Gear Solid V soundtrack by Stephanie Joosten, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain received the award for Best Soundtrack.
Best Performance: Jade Raymond, founder of EA’s Motive Studios, presented the award for Best Performance to Viva Seifert for her performance in Her Story.
Game of the Year: Geoff Keighley, host and producer of The Game Awards, presented the award for Game of the Year to The Witcher 3. The Witcher 3 also won Best Role Playing Game.
