Microsoft’s latest system update releases today for the Xbox One and the Xbox app. Most notable in the update is the ability to download backwards compatible games directly from the store on the Xbox One console. This is huge as Microsoft has been updating the backwards compatible catalog fairly frequently, having recently added the original Assassin’s Creed and Grid 2.
Those who were a part of the Xbox One Preview will already have experienced a lot of these updates, including the ability to track achievement progress in the Xbox One guide and video playback in the Activity Feed. Along with all the new features that were included in this month’s Xbox One Preview, there are some additional featured headed to the console.
Updates include improved thumbstick precision for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, an Xbox Accessories App which will now work on Windows 10, and the ability to include Party Chat audio in Twitch broadcasts. If you’re in a party and don’t want your voice to be heard in someone else’s stream, fear not as there will be an option to decline including your voice in the stream but it will persist through the chat.
