Bluish-Green Productions has announced that their latest game Orbit: Satellite Defense is now on Steam in Early Access. Orbit: Satellite Defense is a fast-paced Indie RTS about strategic, split-second decisions and protecting your planet from aliens.
In Orbit: Satellite Defense, you must protect your world from alien invaders by repositioning Satellites and dictating their targets. Solar Satellites help you collect energy which you use to launch new Satellites or to unleash Planetary Powers.
A group of four Swarm Mites appears; coming at you fast. You activate your Missile Satellite, use its Manual Targeting feature to lock onto each Mite, and then unleash a shower of missiles that pulverizes each one to nothing but a cloud of green goo in the cold vastness of space. Next, you use Manual Targeting on your Railgun Satellite to give it a range-boost and split an approaching Pistol Shrimp in two before the space-crustacean can fire a single burst of its cavitation bubbles. In a game of Orbit: Satellite Defense, moments like this happen in less than a second. A Satellite’s strengths must be matched against the weaknesses of the enemy aliens to be successful.
The game currently features 4 Campaign Planets with 5 levels each, as well as an Endless Mode and a Challenge Mode. New content will be added weekly until the game’s planned 1.0 release by April 2018.
