The alchemy turn based J-RPG Atelier series will be having a new entry, Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, coming to North America and Europe this Summer.
Taking place in a Medieval Europe-like town, you play as a novice alchemist named Sophie, who finds a mysterious book that is imbued with a soul. Within it, it seems to hold all the secrets of Alchemy and then becomes Sophie’s mentor. An interesting aspect of this, is that Sophie’s forgotten memories are revealed as she learns these skills from the book. As the story progresses, we learn the origins of the book as well.
Koei Tecmo also mixed in the details about Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book’s limited edition. According to their press release, the limited edition includes “a two-disc original soundtrack featuring 38 tracks from the in-game score, a cloth poster, a 48-page hardcover art book, and a set of five beautiful miniature art prints.” The cloth poster is 40″ x 26.8.” You can preorder the limited edition exclusively on the NIS America online store here.
Just like Sophie and the mysterious book, the development team of the Atelier series, GUST, have also been uncover the new generation with the series’ first entry on PS4. Tecmo Koei have explained that “The development team at GUST consider Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book to be the new standard for the Atelier series, as the studio has channelled all of its creativity into rebuilding the series’ signature Alchemy system from the ground up and into crafting a visually stunning world full of well-rounded characters and beautiful illustrations.”
Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book releases for PS4 and Vita on June 7th, 2016 for North America and June 10th, 2016 for Europe.
