Rod Fergusson came out during the Microsoft press conference to begin showing The Coalition’s Gears of War 4. To kick off the Microsoft event, they announced that the highly anticipated sequel will be part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, which will allow the game to be played on both Xbox One and Windows 10 without having to purchase the game twice. The game will release on October 11th, 2016.
The gameplay demo showcased a lot of the insane set pieces as lightning strikes and ridiculously high winds fight against the player. Oh, also Locusts. The demo also showcased a new weapon that shot discs which would mutilate enemies as well as ricochet off of hard surfaces. Laura Bailey, who was recently announced as the voice of Selina Kyle in Batman – The Telltale Series, demoed the game as she also voices one of the main characters, Kat. The demo ended with an old-looking Marcus Fenix, and Kat swearing a bunch.
On top of this, the game will support full co-op. Gears of War 4 will let players play with their friends in the campaign, multiplayer and the new Horde 3.0. Cross-play will also be included.
