Nineteen years after the release of the original Fear Effect and seventeen years since its sequel, the Fear Effect franchise’s revival is set to release on March 6th, 2018 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. Initially announced as a kickstarter in early 2016, Fear Effect Sedna acts as a sequel to its predecessors with a reinvented style. The older titles’ constantly changing fixed camera angles are replaced by a top down isometric viewpoint. The series’ core structure remains, but the developers over at Sushee Games hope the fresh perspective and addition of a paused tactical mode can reinvent the IP.
Fear Effect Sedna‘s story is co-written by the original series’ writer. According to the studio, 2018 is Fear Effect‘s year. With a successful kickstarter campaign in addition to the announcement of Fear Effect Reinvented, a remake of the first game, Sushee Games is working hard to reconnect audiences with Rain, Hana, Glas, and Deke. Fear Effect Sedna launches at $19.99/€19.99/£15.99.
