Pokemon GO Summer Tour Starts This Month

Pokémon GO

Upcoming Safari Zones

With warm weather in full swing, the team of the hit mobile game Pokemon GO has announced the first news of their 2018 Summer Tour. Trainers in Europe are invited to join a free Safari Zone event in Dortmund, Germany on the weekend of June 30th and July 1st. They’ve chosen to host the main events in Westfalenpark, which is a fantastic choice. A good portion of their fanbase is parents with children. They’ll surely appreciate the location’s family-friendly playground while on the hunt.

Interestingly, it seems this Safari Zone won’t be completely focused on Pokemon. The team has partnered with the city to extend their adventure all over the district. Their attractions will encourage fans to explore different historical sites.

There will also be a Safari Zone in Yokosuka, Japan later in the summer. The site will release dates and details in the coming weeks.

Pokemon GO Fest

Pokemon GO Fest will be coming back to Chicago on July 14th and 15th with their 2018 event, “A Walk in the Park.” The event will be held in Lincoln Park. Single-day tickets will be $20, and they’ll go on sale starting May 11th. If you can’t make it to any of the live events this year, don’t worry: There will be plenty of summer fun to have wherever you might be in the world, including but not limited to monthly Community Days, scheduled for May 19th, June 16th, and July 8th.

As we approach the 2-year anniversary of Pokemon GO’s launch, it seems that Niantic has been taking great care to listen to their players and adjust accordingly. The initial hype was explosive. Although that has trickled off, they’ve managed to maintain a steady thrum of enthusiasm in the background. All of their event announcements for this summer have pushed themes of accessibility for as many players as possible. The team seems intent on using the power of their game to bring people together to have great experiences. It’s a refreshing look for a game, and it will be exciting to see where they’ll Pokemon-GO next.
