Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to get three different Special Editions for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. They’re all available for pre-order. The first of the three is the Special Edition, which includes several story mode additions and a physical world map. It includes a bank robbery mission and a gang hideout in story mode. It also includes a whole lot more.
Three Special Editions
The Ultimate Edition includes all of the content from the Special Edition and more. This version tacks on two bonus outfits: the Blackrose Bounty Hunter and Copperhead Enforcer outfits; a black chestnut thoroughbred horse with a high plains cutting saddle; free access to the survivor camp theme; and rank bonuses in online play.
However, the third edition, the Collector’s Box does not contain any digital content, or the game. Instead, it focuses on physical items from the Red Dead universe. Everything included will come in a metal tithing box with a lock and key. It includes:
- a collectible challenger coin
- double-sided 100-piece puzzle
- Six Shooter bandana
- Treasure map
- Pin set
- Playing cards featuring illustrated versions of Arthur Morgan, John Marston, Javier Escuella, Bill Williamson, and Dutch van der Linde
- a replica of the 150-page Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue.
- It includes 12 collectible cigarette cards inspired by the ones that can be found in-game.
The announcement comes not long after Take Two Interactive said that Red Dead Redemption 2 won’t be delayed again. Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two, confirmed the news to CNBC not too long ago. Furthermore, Mr. Zelnick said he is confident the PS4 and Xbox One western will actually come out on October 26. In his words:
“When I said hand on heart, it’s over 1,000 people at Rockstar Games with their hands on their hearts.”
Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on Xbox One and PlayStation on October 26. Pre-order the game here.
