Thankfully this news story doesn’t relate to anything about the most recent plot leaks for the upcoming The Last of Us 2. But it is something very important for those fans still looking to purchase the game come June 19th. The Last of Us 2’s storage requirement has been revealed and it’s on par with Red Dead Redemption 2‘s immense hard drive eating size. News outlets have reported that the storage requirement for The Last of Us 2 would make it the largest-sized PS4 exclusive to date.
Damn, that’s a big game!
Thanks to the information provided on a PlayStation pre-order page for Naughty Dog‘s most anticipated game yet, to install The Last of Us 2 on your PS4 or PS4 Pro, you’ll need at least 100GB of free space. Not to mention that for those buying physical copies of the game, this Playstation 4 exclusive will come on two Blu-ray discs. Now the two discs will most likely act the same as it did with Red Dead Redemption 2, with one disc uploading a chunk of the data during the install phase, while the other disc being the main disc to play the game on.
The size is immense but don’t forget that there are plenty of other games that take up at least 100GB’s on hard drives for both PS4 and Xbox One. Including Gears of War 4, Halo 5, and of course the most recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot.
While the headlines are dominated by news of major leaks for The Last of Us 2’s plot, we can assure fans they won’t have to wait much longer for the game to come out. The title will be released worldwide on 19th June and despite the leaks, we can’t wait to play this highly anticipated sequel. Stay tuned for more The Last of Us 2 news on Bagogames.
