Jump Festa is a popular event for announcements regarding your favorite anime video games. In fact, we just got a cool announcement from the folks at Konami. Namely, the fact that Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist is coming to PC, Xbox One, and PS4 (I feel like I have a Deja-vu for some reason). The announcement dropped today during Konami’s Jump Festa livestream.
Yes, that means that the game will no longer be a Switch exclusive. However, Switch owners shouldn’t feel all too bad. The game is going to get a free update over there due out for release in 2020. The update adds a great variety of new cards including “Crystron Halqifibrax,” “Firewall Dragon Darkfluid,” and “I:P Masquerena” to bring the game’s total number of cards to over 10,000.
Additionally, new characters like Ai, Revolver, Soulburner, and others from Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS will appear as duelists. I would like to thank our friends over at Gematsu (and by extension, Games Talk / Inside Games) for providing this additional tidbit of information.
When Does Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist Release?
Anyway, in terms of the Xbox One, PC, and PS4 release of the game; Konami hasn’t confirmed any release window for a western release. While that’s unfortaunate, it’s also expected. Let’s not forget that while Jump Festa has a lot of great announcements,
it also is an event specifically geared toward the Japanese market. So, we shouldn’t expect anything short of a worldwide release date at most. However, once we get more information about the subject, you can be certain that we will share it with you.
For now, what do you think about Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist coming to consoles and PC? Are you going to play through the Switch free update? Which platform are you going to get the game in? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
