Moreover, the average age of a female video gamer is 34 years old, while a male gamer’s average age is 32 years old. While the God of War video game titles is exclusive only for PlayStation consoles, here I am going to talk about the 2018 video game for the PlayStation 4. An action–adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio is the eight installment in the god of War series rooted in Norse Mythology.
The player takes control of the Kratos, a former Greek God of War and his young son Atreus on a journey to spread the ashes of Kratos second wife who is also Atreus‘ mother. Probably one of the oldest game on the list and with over 126 million players, the legacy is strong with this one. A sandbox video game developed by Mojang and released in 2009 as a paid public alpha, Minecraft has since been considered as one of the bestselling video games of all time with over 200 million copies sold as of 2020.
The game lets you explore the pixelated 3D world with a lot of freedom and no specific goals to accomplish. You can choose from a first-person and third-person perspective. Build your own constructs with 3D blocks and with redstones by your side, you can construct many complex systems.

Popularly known as PUBG, PlayerUnknown‘s Battlegrounds is an online multiplayer battle royale game developed and published by Bluehole subsidiary PUBG Corporation. As time progresses, the map’s safe area decreases, forcing surviving players into more skirmishes until a team or player emerges victorious.
The game is available on Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, PS 4, Stadia, and Xbox One. According to, custom essay writing, as of 2020 the fame has sold over 70 million copies, accumulated 734 million mobile downloads, and grossed over $4.3 billion.
- Red Dead Redemption
A 2010 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption offers you a gripping storyline beckoning you to finish the game. If you do play the game, then don‘t forget to play Red Dead Redemption 2 which actually serves as the prequel. The game is often considered an example of video games as an art form and amongst the best-selling video games with over 34 million copies sold.
It seems a bit unfair, but I simply couldn‘t find a way to exclude World of Warcraft from this list. Announced in 2001 and released in 2004, it is an MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) and also the world‘s most popular one too by player count, with over 10 million players in 2009. Plus with over 100 million registered accounts by 2014 and grossing over $9.3 billion in revenue during 2017, it is also one of the highest-grossing video game franchises of all time.
As an ending note, I would just like to say that this is neither a complete nor an exhaustive list of games that can offer you tons of entertainment. Personally, I like video games that are presented as an art form as the most enjoyable.
These include titles like Gris (2018), Gorogoa (2017), Hollow Knight (2017), and Monument Valley (2014) amongst my most desired. I am sure that with so many genres out there, you might also have many favorites. Do care to share and discuss them in the comment section below.
