This is some news that might take PlayStation and Switch fanboys for a loop. Indeed, the parent companies of the systems (Sony and Nintendo) will both host a Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament. On November 22 at 8:00 PM JST, the tournament will be presented with the help of Famitsu.
What companies are involved?
Famitsu will host “Famitsu Presents: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Cross-Company Game Tournament in Tokyo Odaiba Oedo Onsen Monogatari” on November 22 starting at 20:00 JST, the publication announced. There’s more, companies in and outside of the gaming space will be part of this tournament, including:
- Sun-Star Stationery
- StylingLife Holdings PlazaStyle Company
- Taisho Pharmaceutical
- Tokkyo Chou (Japan Patent Office)
- Sony Interactive Entertainment
Employees of the above eight companies will battle it out in team-based matches at the onsen theme park Tokyo Odaiba Oedo Onsen Monogatari to determine which among them are the better Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players.
This is quite a crossover if I do say so myself! The hype for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is still going strong and is bringing people from Japanese gaming companies together. It certainly seems like the bad water between Sony and Nintendo is clearly under the bridge now. Now that the game will be at The Game Awards, what could be next in the table for Smash Bros?
